Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Golazo (Pty) Ltd (“Golazo”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the websites, mobile sites, applications, registration systems and other digital platforms that we own, operate or control.

It should be read with our Privacy Policy and any applicable website, event or service terms. A particular Platform may provide additional cookie information through its consent banner or Cookie Settings tool.

Strictly necessary technologies may operate automatically because they are required for security or core functions. Where consent is required, optional technologies are activated only after you make the relevant choice.

01

Definitions and Scope

1.1

“Cookies” are small text files stored on a browser or device when a website or digital service is used. They can recognise a device, remember preferences and provide information about interactions with a Platform.

1.2

“Similar Technologies” include pixels, tags, web beacons, software development kits, local storage, device identifiers and comparable tools that store or access information or measure interactions.

1.3

“Platforms” means the websites, mobile sites, applications, registration and accreditation systems, payment interfaces, communication tools and other digital services owned, operated or controlled by Golazo.

1.4

“Golazo”, “we”, “us” or “our” means Golazo (Pty) Ltd.

1.5

This Policy applies only to our use of Cookies and Similar Technologies on the Platforms. Third-party websites and services linked from a Platform are governed by their own policies.

02

How Cookies Work

2.1

Cookies may be set by us as first-party cookies or by an authorised service provider as third-party cookies.

2.2

Session cookies generally expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period or until they are deleted. Similar Technologies may have different storage or activation rules.

2.3

Cookies and Similar Technologies may process information such as IP address, device and browser details, unique identifiers, language, approximate location, referral source, pages or functions used, timestamps, interactions and consent choices.

03

Categories We May Use

3.1

Strictly Necessary Cookies support functions that are essential to operate and secure a Platform. They may be used to:

  • maintain sessions, load pages and route network traffic;
  • provide account access, authentication and security;
  • support registration, checkout and payment workflows;
  • prevent fraud, abuse and technical errors;
  • remember consent choices; and
  • provide features you expressly request.
3.2

Strictly Necessary Cookies cannot normally be switched off through our consent tool. Blocking them in browser settings may prevent a Platform from working correctly.

3.3

Preference and Functionality Cookies remember choices and enable enhanced features, such as language, region, display settings, saved details or personalised functionality. If disabled, some features may not work as intended.

3.4

Analytics and Performance Cookies help us understand how Platforms and communications are used. They may measure visits, traffic sources, navigation, errors, engagement and performance so that we can improve our services.

3.5

Advertising and Campaign Cookies may measure campaign effectiveness, limit repeated advertising, support attribution and help deliver content or advertising that is more relevant. They may recognise activity across websites or services where permitted.

3.6

Social Media and Embedded Content Technologies may be activated when a Platform includes videos, maps, social-media tools, sharing functions or other content supplied by a third party. The provider may receive information about your interaction under its own privacy notice.

04

Third-Party Services

4.1

We may use authorised providers to support hosting, security, registration, payment, customer communications, analytics, advertising, embedded content, streaming, mapping and social-media functionality.

4.2

A third-party provider may set or read its own Cookies or Similar Technologies when its service is used. The provider’s processing may be governed by its own privacy and cookie notices, and it may operate from another country.

4.3

The providers used can differ between Platforms and may change as our systems and Events change. The current Cookie Settings tool on the relevant Platform is the most specific source for the providers and optional technologies available there.

05

Cookie Register and Retention

5.1

Where available, the Cookie Settings tool lists the Cookies and Similar Technologies detected on the relevant Platform, including their provider, purpose, category and duration. This list forms part of this Cookie Policy and should be kept current through periodic technical scans and reviews.

5.2

Cookie durations vary according to purpose. Session technologies expire when the session ends, while persistent technologies may remain for the period shown in the Cookie Settings tool unless deleted earlier.

5.3

We retain information obtained from Cookies and Similar Technologies only for as long as reasonably necessary for the stated purpose and in accordance with our Privacy Policy, legal obligations and retention controls.

06

Consent and Preferences

6.1

On a Platform that uses optional Cookies or Similar Technologies, we may present a banner or preference tool that allows you to accept, reject or choose categories. Strictly Necessary Cookies remain active where required for core functions.

6.2

Where we rely on consent, you may withhold or withdraw it without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. A consent cookie or similar record may be used to remember your choice.

6.3

You can revisit the Cookie Settings tool on the relevant Platform to change available preferences. The change will apply to future use on that browser or device and may not automatically apply to another browser, device or user profile.

6.4

If Cookies are cleared, a browser is reset or a different device is used, the Platform may ask for your choices again.

07

Browser and Device Controls

7.1

Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete Cookies through their privacy or security settings. Mobile devices and applications may provide additional controls for identifiers, location, tracking or permissions.

7.2

Blocking or deleting Cookies can affect sign-in, registration, checkout, preferences, embedded content and other Platform functions. Browser controls may not disable every Similar Technology, so use the Platform’s Cookie Settings tool where available.

7.3

Instructions differ by browser and device and are generally available through the relevant help or settings menu.

08

Personal Information and Data Protection

8.1

Information collected through Cookies and Similar Technologies may be personal information under POPIA or other applicable data protection laws.

8.2

Where the information is personal information, we process it for the purposes and on the lawful grounds described in our Privacy Policy. Depending on the technology, this may include consent, contractual necessity, legal obligations or legitimate interests balanced against your rights.

8.3

Some providers or affiliated Golazo entities may process information outside South Africa. Any international transfer for which we are responsible will be handled in accordance with POPIA and the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy.

09

Changes to This Policy

9.1

We may update this Cookie Policy when our technologies, providers, Platforms, legal requirements or practices change.

9.2

The updated version will be made available on the relevant Platform and will state its effective date. Where required, we will request consent again or provide additional notice.
